About the Author

James Leslie Payne may live in London Ontario, Canada with his sweetheart of 46 years, but he was born in St. Andrews Hospital in London's East end, a true Cockney, well within the sounds of Bow Bells. However, let's bear in mind that the bells haven't rung since the late 30's so, there are doubts about his cockney status! He moved to Canada in 1973 and started a career in Radio. He spent 41 years in the Canadian Broadcasting system and ended up as Vice President and General Manager of three Television stations and eleven radio stations, in the province of British Columbia, Canada. He retired in 2014 but is still involved in the broadcast industry as a director of several radio stations. He also consults to the leadership team of a large transportation company in Eastern Canada. He started writing several years ago, when he realized that the Grandfather clock that had been passed down to his family, was built by the Breakenrig Father and Son clock making team in Edinburgh. They only built these magnificent works of art from 1802 to 1806, four short years. He started to wonder why and his imagination soon got the better of him. Sensationally, he is also the Bastard son of Leslie James Payne, the business manager for the Kray's, England most notorious and dangerous gangsters, who were, by the way, cockney's too!
