The Sookie Stackhouse series is somewhat like the Anita Blake (author Laurell K Hamilton) novels, but unlike Laurell K Hamilton, this series provides more of a story line and less sex. Don't get me wrong - I am a big Laurell K Hamilton fan, the Anita Blake series started out great for the first few books but lost the way when all the author wrote was about what the characters were wearing and who they will shag next.
Sookie lives in a world like ours except for one difference, Vampires are now a legal part of society. Sookie is a waitress that has a sort of disability - she is a mind reader. A vampire comes to town and Sookie discovers he's her perfect man as she cannot read his mind. Sookie uses her telepathic abilities to assist the local vampire lord.
The author has written a very easy readable book. Probably a little too easy to read and could do with a bit more depth, but the characters are believable and likeable and continue to grow with each book.
I bought the first four books from Less10.com. The next two are yet to be released in paperback.
1. Dead Until Dark, 2. Living Dead in Dallas, 3. Club Dead, 4. Dead to the World, 5. Dead as a Doornail, 6. Definitely Dead

Sookie is asked once again to use her gifts to help the vampires find one of their own who has been kidnapped. Yes another kidnapping; only this time it is her own vampire Bill that has been taken. Or has he?
Is it possible Bill has decided to leave Sookie for another woman, another dead woman. Either way Bill has disappeared and Sookie has decided that no matter how or why he left her, she was going to find him. Whether she would wrap her arms about him in a loving embrace, or to tear his throat out with her bare hands, she wasn't sure. But she was sure she had to find him.
In the mean time there was a new temptation for Sookie. A very tall, green eyed, good looking temptation. Not to mention the ever increasingly persistent Eric. Would Sookie leave Bill? Can their relationship survive temptations, secrets, unfaithfulness, torture, attempted murder, actual murder, rape, abuse, and just a good old fashioned beating? Only time will tell, as Sookie's gonna need some time to heal her many wounds, not to mention her heart, before she can decide if Bill is still the one she wants to be with, or if its all over for good.
Another fast paced, entertaining and action packed book to sink your teeth into.

Book 3 of the series and HOW I WISH PUBLISHERS WOULD CLEARLY NUMBER SERIES!!!! Our intrepid heroine discovers trouble in relationship paradise. Trouble, that is out of the ordinary run of her lover never being around in the sunlight due to his nightshade nature....Bill has disappeared and is apparently trying to break her heart. However there are other candidates in her quest to find and save him, who provide temptation of a carnal nature, and we are not simply talking sexy Sam and endless Eric!! This book is a nice mixture of laughter and sighs as we feel for Sookie in her adventures.

I absolutely love this book - in fact, the whole Sookie Stackhouse books. If you are a fan of the paranormal and strong women, then you'll enjoy this series.

What's one of these paranomal romance books without a vampire nightclub with its own peculiar rules of etiquette?
Not to mention slim-hipped pillow pretty boy proprietors or staff that fancy a well buildt young small town for playtime and plaything.
Luckily for her, her main sucker squeeze can hold his own.
