This book is the tenth in the Guardians of Ga'Hoole series, and is part of the trilogy telling the life of Hoole, the last king of the ember. In this book readers find out more about hagsfiends, the evil crow-owl creatures that use natchmagen (dark magic). It tells the story of Hoole's rise to power, and the decisions he has to make along the way, deciding that he needs no crown of gold to make him a king. It's a great book that and fan of the series will love. I recommend this book and series to fans of owls and fantasy novels alike.
