Effective communication is at the heart of any successful human endeavour or enterprise. Communication: Organisation and Innovation shows how innovative methods of communication teaching and learning can strengthen and benefit all organisations, especially in today's fast-changing world of business and technology. Control (organisation) and change (innovation) are two concepts that are inherent in the concept of communication and this text stresses that communication is an innovative, dynamic, ever-changing, risk-taking and adaptive process that generates new relationships, new growth and new ways of thinking. The content moves from theory to practice, from the general to the specific, from the understanding of an individual to an understanding of an organisation - a learning strategy that will help students gain an understanding of what it takes to be a good communicator both within individual relationships and as a member of an organisation.

This book is often used in polytechs like UCOL (e.g. for the NZ diploma in business) and therefore a necessary purchase for many students. It may not be the perfect book about communication but it covers all the basic issues and is written in an easily understandable way.
