800 pages of one of the great master authors of all time. There stories have been around for generations and continue to be retold in films
and new novels, they are relevant even today. And even the darker stories, you can find the humour amusing and almost all the stories
have a moral to them. Its nice to get lost in the imagery and fantasy land of the grimm brothers novels and a great collection of stories.

Lots of fairytales (folktales)translated from German by Jack Zipes. Some that are tried and true (although told in a definitely non-disney way), some that are completely new to me.
Some illustrations, not a lot.
Really good for those who like fairytales and the brothers Grimm and want to know more about each.

Fantastic to see all of these old stories in thier original form in one book.
Amazing to see how simple the stories are, and some of the one liners are wonderful. "She was ugly as sin, and only had one eye" That really says it all!
A great read
