I was first introduced to Anne Rice - The Vampire Lestat 15 years ago, and have been addicted to Anne Rice books ever since. The Vampire Chronicles are my favourite, and although I have read these books over and over again, I still throughly enjoy them.

Anne Rice takes you into the minds and hearts of her characters, so much so that you begin to wish that Vampires really do exist! Owning this collection of Vampire Chronicles is like having a secret bank account - always good for a rainy day!

If there was ever a set of books I would recommend, it would be these. Interview with the Vampire can be a little difficult to start with, especially for those of us who have seen the film (but there are a few minor changes which do effect the story line) so it's well worth the read. The Queen of the Damned is a personal favourite amongst this set, which explains how Anne Rices vampires came to be. The film was garbage compaired to this book- so please don't judge it based on the film. Personally, I especially enjoyed learning about Mekare and Maharet. The Tale of the Body Theif was not available in Australia when I first read it! So buying a set like this is simply wonderful.

Although you can not cxall it a complete book set because there are soooo many books in this series these are wonderful books. Everyone has their favourite characters and mine is Lestat, who plays a major role in each one of these books which Louie does not. Sometimes they will scare you, sometimes they will make you feel for the characters and sometimes they will intrigue you. Highly recommend but do continue to read after thee box set.

This box set is great value. The books are easy to read and very entertaining. Anne rice is able to draw you into the dark world of vampires she creates with her irresistable characters. Unlike twilight it manages to explore the darker side of vampirism for a more adult read! Fishpond was great and delivered the books promptly and with careful packaging.

These books are beautifully written. each character has a depth and complexity rarely found in novels. they way she writes just makes things so vivid and really takes you to a place that many authors cant seem to do.

her stories are deep and involving and once you start you just cant put them down.

i would recommend anne rice to anyone who enjoys a well written story that makes your imagination run wild.

This is a perfect introduction to Anne Rice's stye, which IMHO gets better and better with each reading! This whole world of vampires is just too delicious, especially if you have always been a little in love with the thought of them as this reviewer has *sheepish grin*

Lestat is such a powerful force as a character - he is both light and dark, good and evil - the descriptions of this family of vampires is so amazing, Anne Rice is truly a master of her craft.

The vampire chronicles are a classic series and will keep you reading lost within the book and losing track of time. Luckily there are a few books in the series to keep you going. Much better than the movie it gives more of an insight into the thoughts of the vampires and their odd way of life. Also because they are immortal and live for so long it is curious how they cope through the centuries as their natural life span would have already passed.

Anne Rice is the master of this genre. Every book is beautifully written with characters woven into various times and places. The reader is transfixed by a dark world full of memorable characters and chilling circumstances.
In Interview she shows us the world through the vampires perspective and she is also one of the first authors to do this. Louis is tormented by the cards life or should I say death has dealt him, he is woeful character who spends the book asking himself does he want to survive by living off others. Eventually he comes to terms with what he has become and learns to live with it but it is the Lestat who is the star of these novels. He is a wickedly charming character - his attiitude to life is survive at all costs and his moments of conscience are fleeting and perfectly timed. I reccomend any books by Anne Rice also 'Vrolok' by Nolene-Patricia Dougan - a must read for any fans of the genre.

This is an amazing series. I just love the way she writes. Each story just takes you there. Time just flies by before you know it. This is a hard to put down series for all horror and vampire fans alike. If you've seen the movies then be blown away by the books.
