An extraordinary, real-life tale of international intrigue and corruption, "Confessions of an Economic Hitman" reveals the hidden mechanics of imperial control behind such major international events as the fall of the Shah, the death of Panamanian president Omar Torrijos, and the invasions of Panama and Iraq, as well as providing an inside view of the corrupt U.S.-Saudi Arabian relationship. This book reveals the story of one man's personal journey, from eager servant of empire to impassioned advocate for the rights of oppressed people.

Considering this book is intended to be biographical, this book certainly has a non-fiction feel to the way it is written. I think people who regard this man's 'story' as pure fiction are too use to living in a world where only pop culture can entertain the idea of anything remotely as cunning and devious as what the many organisations in this book have covertly carried out in last thirty years. I idea that it is a conspriacy theory is blown out of the water by the NSA trying to make him look like anti-american and a space cadet on there website, without actually addressing any allegations made in the book. Funny that. In a way, I am not really surprised how some of these situations have unfolded in the book. A damn good read, and don't be fooled by the writing style. It couldn't be a more serious.
