This is one fabulous book fellow sewers. Easy to understand instructions with clear photos to illustrate the text. Why don't the pattern instructions give details like this? Well, wonder no more, just buy this book and keep it next to your sewing machine. Hopefully you also have an overlocker (serger), if you haven't, what are you waiting for, you need one, most likely deserve one! Kenneth would want you to get one. This book tells you how to achieve beautifully fine hems on sheer fabrics, a strong thin neat french seam suitable for sheer fabrics, lots of tips for adding piping details to your clothing, foolproof welt pockets, a fabulous hidden lining pocket which I am installing in my next mancoat, and now you will be able to make those exquisite welt bound buttonholes without hesitation. Ever had that problem where the sleeve head is too big for the armhole and you can't ease it in without puckering, well Kenneth tells you how to solve this problem and it is so easy to fix. There is a lot of information on garment understructure such as which fabric to use and the how's and why's of the support provided to the finished garment. Also includes instructions for designer embellishments such as tassels, ruffles, prairie points, chinese knots and passementerie. Thank you Kenneth.

This book is amazing! I saw it featured on Threadbanger and then checked it out in a local shop.
Kenneth King is amazing. This book is filled with tips on working with all those amazing fabrics that you never had the guts to work with. Eg: Velvet. After reading this- I have no problems spending $35 a meter on some velvet and working with it. Great tips on working with Satin (which I have worked with a great deal- and now know how to avoid many of the problems I always encounter). He's a marvel. And the tips to achieve a super professional result are priceless. (Especially to self taught sewers such as myself). If you plan on working with lush fabrics- this book is a must have.
