About the Author

Ariel Horowitz wasn't always into crocheting. It just so happens that she had gotten ill and was basically laid up for an extended period of time. So with all that unwanted time on her hands, she thought about what she could do to be productive; especially during the winter in Wisconsin where it can get pretty cold. An older friend of her mom's, Roberta, came by regularly to visit and that was where her interest among other things began. Ariel was taught from A to Z different techniques and ways of crocheting that was passed down for generations by Roberta's family. She was kind enough to share many things and with all the time on Ariel's hands, she thought why not spend some time writing a book for beginners on how to crochet and make beautiful things that's useful and a fun way to actually be productive. She's gotten so good at it that people she knows are willing to actually pay her to crochet hats, blankets, mittens, etc. It wasn't something planned; but turned out to be something great.
