About the Author

Ewald Kliegel was born in the countryside of Bavaria (Germany) in1957, under the sign of Gemini. By the age of 19 he had already heard, and been challenged by, his calling to be a healer and a teacher. His initial contact with healing came about through a practice in a hospital, which led to his becoming a practicing massage therapist and naturopath. Ewald's teaching career began with a practice in a school for handicapped children, which led to his becoming a lecturer in holistic therapies, reflexology, and gemstone applications. These activities were accompanied by extensive travelling throughout Asia, the establishment of fitness spas in Swiss first class hotels, and a clinic project at the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa. Everywhere he went Ewald found new approaches to healing, which he then integrated into his work. During his massage therapy training Ewald became acquainted with reflexology; it became his major field of interest, and he still gives lectures and seminars today. In order to provide his students with appropriate handouts, he developed a unique, icon-orientated presentation of the organs for his reflexology charts. The first ones focussed on the feet, but he went on to create drawings of the other reflexology systems, in his characteristic way, which included reflexology of the hands, the ear, and the back. There are now 30 of these systems used widely in German speaking countries. His research has also led to a compendium, which compiles and describes 30 reflexology systems, from the feet to the scull. Realizing that reflexology is an energetic phenomenon and an issue of informational connections within the body, Quite early on in his career, Ewald Kliegel recognized that gemstones had very intense effects when used as part of his treatments. He experimented with different ways of working, and went on to develop this process using Crystal Wands. Activating as well as diluting energy became much easier, through the qualities of the gemstones and through the shape of the wands. This very new idea not only worked in reflexology, but also all, the effects have been tested; the results can be found in this book, with easy-to-understand descriptions and illustrations.
