A large number of books on the topic of anger have recently come into my house -- how to recognize anger, what it means, and how to "control" it. This is the only one of these books that I liked. All the other books on this topic seem to treat anger as a loss of control, which should be repressed. In fact, they seem to be about impulse control more than about anger. (I have nothing against people learning to control their impulses, I just don't think that it's the same topic as the topic of anger.) Luckily, I did not pay for any of these books, so I can just be glad I read this one, and forget about the others

I found this book very interesting reading. It was extremely easy to read and understand with lots of relevant case histories that help enlighten the text. It appears that anger really is a dance that we are all involved in whether we know it or not! Well worth a read for anyone who is in any kind of relationship.

While anger deserves our attention and respect, women still learn to silence our anger, to deny it entirely or to vent it in a way that leaves us feeling helpless and powerless. Dr. Lerner teaches readers to identify the true sources of their anger and to use anger as a powerful vehicle for creating meaningful and lasting change. When relationships are stuck in too much distance or intensity, people feel that they have "tried everything" and that their attempts to change things only lead to more of the same. Lerner moves readers away from silence and ineffective fighting and blame as she explains how relationship patterns operate and how to change one's own steps in the dance. She is a master at translating complex theory into accessible, engaging, and helpful prose. Highly recomended!
