Ellie and her five terrified but defiant friends struggle to survive amid a baffling conflict. Their families are unreachable; the mountains are now their home. When two of them fall behind enemy lines, Ellie knows a rescue mission must begin.

About the Author

John Marsden accidentally put himself through the perfect training to become a novelist.
He read vast numbers of books, acquired a love of language, and became insatiably curious about other people. He also had a variety of jobs, 32 at the last count, including working in abattoirs, hospitals, morgues and a haunted house.
In 1985, rather to his own surprise, he found himself teaching English in the Australian bush, at Timbertop School. Noticing a complete lack of interest in reading among his Year 9 students he tried his hand at writing a short novel that he thought they might enjoy.
The rest is history. John Marsden, author of the Tomorrow series and Ellie Chronicles, is now the world's most successful author of teenage fiction. He has sold a million and a half books worldwide, and has won awards in Europe, America and Australia. His first love however is still teaching, and he spends most of his time running writing camps at his property, near Hanging Rock, Victoria.

Reviews

5 of 5 Stars! – Customer review on 22/06/2007

The second in john Marsden's epic Tomorrow when the war began series, this book is beyond good. It's exciting and amazing, with Ellie and her friends becoming more soldier like but never losing that genuine human compassion that attracted us to them in the first place. Wonderful book, if you've read the first then you have to read this one.

5 of 5 Stars! – Customer review on 21/04/2007

The Tomorrow When the War Began books are the best series I have read, they are perfect for anyone, teenagers or older. They are written from a teenage girl's point of view when she and her friends go camping and come back to find their town has been invaded. It is about friendship, loyalty, survival and love. These books are very inspiring and John Marsden is an amazing author. Once you start reading, you will find you can't put it down!

another awesome book in the tomorrow war series. in this book, more action continues, as the teens try to wreck more of the enemies plans. if you liked the other book in this series about ellie, homer, fiona etc then you are bound to like this one, its got more of the same great action that made the other book so popular!
