About the Author

Mary Hoffman was first published in the 1970s and has now written over 90 books for children of all ages. She was made an Honorary Fellow of the Library Association in 1998 for her work with children and schools, contributing to courses for teachers on reading, language and children's literature. Her bestselling books have been received numerous awards, and she was nominated for the post of Children's Laureate in 2011-2013.
