This book is an inspirational look at a range of different ideas for setting up early childhood environments. It discusses ways to enhance your area in order to give young children the best environment in which to develop. As a teacher i am looking at implementing many of these ideas. Note: Read the text, the pictures are stunning but the text goes into great detail and is very inspiring.
This book would be a beautiful gift for anyone working with young children. It contains wonderful photographs full of inspiration for the early learning classroom. I love this book!
As an early childhood student, the designs are inspiring and offer opportunity for stimulating new ideas. I like the fact that a single text can offer so many clear, simple achievable ideas for offering stimulating environments in which children can learn.
I have owned this book for a number of years and it is invaluable. It offers wonderful inspirational set ups and meaningful information about utilising the "third teacher" (the environment). The set ups are achievable and make use of resources that most teachers can access. You can return to it time and time again and always find something to inspire you.
This book is a must for any pre-school. It provides a lovely resource for directors, parents, and staff alike. Loads of beautiful and unique ideas to stimulate and excite the senses. Highly recommended.
I love having this book to help me with changing the layout of our pre school room. With the reggio emilia way and emerget i dound it hard to know how to make the room work well, but this book gives you simple ideas that you can do for free, it helps bring the child out in you
As a child care professional for over 12 years. This book was everything i was looking for. Not only did it live up to other peoples opinions but it truly exceeded mine. It had great ideas and wonderful insight into how we can transform a room to provide children with a greater level of experiences.
I originally became aware of this book when Stu Guyton (from the Ministry of Education) visited a centre that I was working at. He passed the book around and immediately there was a strong interest in checking it out and lots of comments on what was inside. I went home that night and started to research how I could purchase my own copy. This book is amazing - clear dialogue and wonderful pictures to help inspire teachers in there teaching. The environment is the "third teacher" in the early childhood setting and this book has many examples on how to enhance the environment for children's learning. Highly recommended - and I think the teachers at the preschool I am at would say the same as they have been delighted to have it there as a resource too.
