Crew working on the oil rigs are a strange breed, and we dont hear much from this very tough industry. This book is a personal story as well as a window on an industry that affects us all but which we don't really see.
While the writing is not of professional standard, its readable, and gets the story across. if you want a light and entertaining afternoon read that is not too demanding, try it.

I was hooked from the first page, it is a warts & all, often hilarious look at a way of life completely removed from the day to day grind that most of us face. This book certainly doesn't gloss over any details of what can obviously be a very brutal way of making a living.

A friend of mine recommended I read this book and I was addicted from the moment I opened the book. I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes, very funny and enjoyable read.

The title makes it seem more interesting than it actually is. It has some humorous anecdotes but they are few and far between and the narrative is too jumpy. However it does provide an insight into an otherwise risky industry and has its entertaining bits.
