if you will only ever buy one book on the subject, this is what i would recommend!!! the authors have a particular emphasis on diet and nutrition, believing that this is the foundation for good health for your animal. as such, there is a very comprehensive section on natural foods and recipes you can make to replace commercial pet food. foremost, the book treats animals and the relationship with their owners with respect, covering some emotional elements of health and wellbeing also. it informs on the negative effects of poisons such as flea treatments, vaccinations etc, while offering advice on natural substitutes for both chronic conditions and first aid. your pet will thank you for it, and who knows, it may even extend the p[recious amount of time you have together on this world!!!

A brilliant book - I have had a copy for years. Found some of the recepies very helpfull when I have had sick animals that were ubable to eat commercial foods.

This is such a fantastic informative book on health care for cats and dogs. I have always been in favour of natural health and treat my dogs as naturally as I can. People have no idea how old my female Dalmatian is until I tell them and then they are shocked. She is 11 and going strong. She jumps up and down for the the natural food I give her and her energy & joint pain is excellent. Definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants to keep healthy dogs and cats.

Dr Pitcairnhas provided an amazing book that all cat and dog owners should have in their library as a reference. It offers great natural recipies for biscuits and meals. The insight offered for natural health, allopathic and natural options for medical issues has been very helpful in keeping our animals healthy and acting as a preventative treatment for our furry loved ones. A great option for all pet owners.
