Menolly is now at the Harper Hall. However, she is a geek/nerd and doesn't fit in with all the girls who like doing the standard chick things. Plus there just happens to be a bunch of fire lizards following her around.
She also has to deal with the problem of choosing or being asked to choose a specialisation and someone to be a mentor.
A Partner to Dragon Song. I recently did a reread of the Dragons of Pern series and found that this book had grown on me. Menolly's story is a beautiful one of a girl who wants to make music, a land who wants to hear her music and a hidebound family planning to prevent that from happening. Definately a worthwhile read as part of the fabulous Pern Books
