I LOVE Francine Rivers books and The Mark Of The Lion Sequel is my Favorite! This story carry's on from a Voice in the Wind and it takes on from Hadassah being mauled by a lion in an arena from the last book. Marcus Loved Hadassah; he loved her Patience, Kindness and her Gentleness but most of all he Loved that she SERVED others from the heart. He never Loved or understood her God though which created a barb between them in the first book. Now that Marcus thinks Hadassah is dead due to his sister putting her in an arena he must come fact to face with Hadassah's God to give him peace (from her death and the life he is living) he can't find anywhere else; the peace he found with Hadassah. He wants to find her God. Marcus travels to Hadassah's homeland and begins his journey to find her God - Jesus but also to find a Forgivness for his sister.
Lovely Story, So real and compelling.
This is the sequel to "A Voice in the Wind", and its main function seems to be to tie up all the loose ends that were left hanging in the previous novel. Unrepentant sinners are converted and forgiven, lost lovers are reunited, families are drawn back together and everything ends happily.
I love "A Voice in the Wind" - it's one of my favourite novels - but I usually only read this one for a sense of closure after reading "A Voice". The writing remains excellent but the plot is rather lacking and drags on for a bit too long.
It's a little unrealistic in places, but a generally good read.
