This text is written specifically to meet the requirements of the national mechanical engineering curriculum. It is an ideal introductory text for first-year engineering students covering the three basic modules, Statics (EA858), Introductory Dynamics (EA772) and Introductory Strength of Materials (EA804). Each chapter is divided into 'teachable lessons'. The book is designed to be competency-based.
