Born in Guangdong province in south China in 2002, Eva (Mei) was orphaned at two days old. At 18 months, she was adopted by Canadian parents, and now makes her home in a small fishing village on Nova Scotia's south shore. John MacIntyre is an author, a book publisher, and Eva's father. They live in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia.
"Eva and Me is part memory scrapbook, part memoir, part
illuminating history of a significant time in China's existence. I
hope that there will be future books about Eva and her family as
she and her sister grow up and their lives continue to blossom."
--Jodi DeLong, the Chronicle Herald
"Beautiful . . . This book is written in a quietly beautiful style.
It's far more than a factual account of Eva's life so far. You can
feel the love, the fears, the understanding in every phrase.
Everyone who has dealings with a young child -- even if he or she
is not adopted from another country -- should read Eva and Me." --
Elizabeth Cran, the Charlottetown Guardian
