This is one of the most popular and widely read books by the world famous "Prince of Paradox".A history of humanity, Christ, and Christianity, this 1925 polemic famously converted C. S. Lewis from atheism.Chesterton's view of Christianity - as a rare blend of philosophy and mythology, satisfying to both intellect and spirit - applies to his brilliant book, which appeals to readers' heads as well as to their hearts.

Chesterton's weaving of man, mythology, demonology, mysticism, and philosophy into the tale of history - as the tale of Christ's redeeming work - speaks as a lonely voice among the white noise of modernism. He teaches us to remember what it is to see beauty in truth, and truth in beauty; his words are almost unparalleled, in style like poetic prose, in weight like Thor's hammer, in truth like Scripture. So far this is rocking my entire mind. I'm only sixty-some pages into it, and I would reccommend this to every single human being who is living.
