This is one of history's greatest poetry books. I say that in all seriousness. Few poets have the ability to capture the imagination that Shel Silverstein possesses. Each poem, while short, manages to tell a full story complete with characters & climaxes. As a child this was always one of my favourite poetry books. Silverstein managed to capture my, & I assume many other children's, imagination in a way that has stuck with me my entire life. He made poetry fun & exciting & will always be considered by me to be one of the truly great poets. A must for any poetry buff or parent.
