The strategies in this book helped me make significant changes in my life, including overcoming the limiting thinking and negative thought patterns associated with a life long stutter (and all the associated fears of speaking, being judged, being rejected, etc). Yes, the strategies are very simple(this is actually part of their beauty), but this makes them easy to learn and they can be applied to so many areas of our life that they really do provide a life time of learning. I liked it so much I even became a 'Feel the Fear' trainer and now get paid to speak to groups of people - this shows that anybody really can Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway!

Anything that helps people lead happier lives is worth the investment and this book may be of assistance. The title essentially sums up the thrust of the argument and is repeated with examples and activities throughout. The author is enthusiastic and has a clear writing style, free from obscurity and psycho-babble. That said, the advice works on a very simplistic level that in many ways fails to take into account human complexity. Nor does it try to understand the nature and causes of fear in any meaningful way. It may work for people with relatively minor problems who are prepared to put in the legwork with affirmations, post-its, charts and whatever else is recommended as a means of reinforcing new learning. At times the writing becomes trite and annoying ("It is all happening perfectly" is one recommended affirmation) and the author fails to acknowledge that her ideas are not original. By all means read it, but there are much better books around for helping us change the way we think, feel and act.

Not a bad book. The author uses a lot of examples which is good, I especially like her grid, 9 different areas of your life. Got to about 3/4 of the way & put it down for a week. I lost a bit of interest in the last few chapters.
