– Customer review on 12/02/2008 "Tintin in the Congo" is interesting to read, not so much for the story, which is largely perfunctory but has it's moments of interest, but for the attitudes displayed within it. This is one of Herge's earlier stories and the patronising, stereotypical colonial attitudes he displays make for interesting reading in this supposedly more enlightened time. There are flashes of the later Tintin books in places, bits of humour that point to later entries, but on the whole it's a little disappointing and not as visually confident as later entries.
