Excellent. It had a nice mix of suspense, horror, mystery and supernatural themes to keep anyone hooked. Light is a very good anti-hero and I can just feel myself cheering him on as he tries to keep one step ahead of the supercop L.
This is not a manga for children- it has very dark themes.

An extremely unique plot/storyline manga. It has a light comedy side, entagled with a extremely serious tone. Although the supernatural qualities normally in manga can be over powering, in Death Note it is a tool. Weilded by Light (Raito) the notebook makes him the axe to clean up society, to send a message to all of the world that wrong doers should be punished. So although the note book is supernatural, it is used in a human way.
The only thing I personally dislike is how the names have been translated. Raito is a far more appealing name then Light.

An interesting premise, with non cheesy artwork, which was very pleasing. Supernaturally enabled wunderkind becomes sociopathic vigilante vs possibly also socipathic shut-in young Nero Wolfe type (in habit, not size), at the core. Well worth a look, even if you couldn't care for manga at all, as this is definitely aimed at adults, both in content and in artistic style. Nothing cute at all, quite realistic.

Death Note by Takeshi Obata is an "who did it crime/mystery" Manga with twists...
Raito, perfect score student, had happy life with his family; but all that came to an end. Raito found_a note book lying on the ground. which allows the owner to kill anyone by knowing their face and writing their name down... Discovering this, Raito decided to use it to clean the world off criminals.
Thus, criminals slowly began to die one by one...........
However, L, the world's intelligent detective, is now investigating about criminals' unusual death's.
Just HOW do u catch someone that leaves no evidence??
It's Genius VS Genius, what will the result would be?
