– Customer review on 09/05/2008 The unique filmic treatment of Frank Miller’s graphic novel 300, itself a loosely based adaptation of the Battle of Thermopylae, considered one of the most famous last stands in history, was as much a watershed as the original work. It depicts the events leading up to the Battle from the Spartan King’s perspective as his force of 300 prepares to take on thousands of Persians. THe film's realism is only added to be the surreal illustrative feel and the the vast array of visual effects are dramatically produced here.
