The Comics of Serenity are basically the events of about 3 TV Episodes that were never made put together. It helps set up the start of the Movie Serenity as it covers the 6 months since we last saw Serenity in the final episode of Firefly "Objects in Space" . The Characters of Book and Inara are focused on, the writting is good with Whedons usual humour and wit, the drawing range from good to not so great
A fantastic addition the the 'firefly' universe from the creator of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" comes this follow-up to the hit TV show "Firefly. Serenity" follows a ship full of mercenaries, fugitives, and one law-abiding prostitute in their pursuit for fast cash and a little peace along the fringes of space. a must must must have!!!
This fantastic addition to the sadly cutoff series of Firefly is worth a lokk at certainly. It is Filled with quirky plot ideas and many new techniques. Josh Whedon who created firefly, Buffy and Angel has come up with some more fantastic ideas in here. A must have for the serenity or the firefly fan or just for everyone.
This comic is a nice bridge between the tv show firefly and movie serenity, but is only for fans of the world joss whedon has created. Basically only read this if you've seen the show, and if you haven't seen the show, what are you waiting for? watch that first and when you see how great it is then read the comic and watch the movie!
First and most importantly of all it should be pointed out that Joss Whedon did not write this book, it was written by the other guy based on a plot outline developed by Whedon. It helps explain what happened between the end of the TV series and the start of the movie but really isn't essential reading in order to enjoy either.
I think this looks promising. I have seen the movie 'Serenity' and I really liked it. The mix of action, fast paced drama, romance and horror, mixed in with a touch of humour every time the going got tough, as it often did, made it a really enjoyable viewing experience for me. This graphic novel seems like it would capture the essence of the film really well, and I even have my interest piqued for the television series. I wonder if I could find it to watch sometime soon...... Anyway, I think this looks really good, and would be worth having a read off for any science fiction/ drama/comedy aficiando.
