Written quite a long time before the modern Star Wars novels, the Han Solo trilogy is one of the best extensions of the Star Wars universe. Set before the movies, it follows Han and Chewie's exciting adventures in smuggling and arms dealing, before they became heroes of the Rebel Alliance. The pick of the bunch would have to be the thrilling Han Solo's Revenge. Great value for money.

Tells the story of Han Solo and Chewbacca's pre-A New Hope adventures, before much of their current expanded universe backstory was conceived. Made up of 3 novels, previously published individually, "Han Solo at Star's End", "Han Solo's Revenge" and "Han Solo and the Lost Legacy", the Solo Adventures hark back to a time when Star Wars stories didn't have to involve saving the galaxy, and, in many ways, remains more true to the original characters of Han and Chewie than many modern novels/comics.

If you read them as a kid, you'll enjoy them for their nostalgic value. If you've never read them, you'll enjoy them as a refreshing change from the modern Star Wars expanded universe novels.
