I am a great lover of the Anita Blake series and yet I have found that by Book 12 Laurell K Hamilton is losing her edge. We have left a lot of Anita behind in this book and instead its just a lot of sex scenes tied together. The underlying "ardeur" may just kill this whole series off if it doesn't improve. For Anita Blake fans, read the book but don't start off on this book or else you'll never read another Anita Blake book and miss a so-far great story.

Here's where Laurell K Hamilton really went over the edge. Anita Blake, formerly crime-solving zombie-raising vampire-hunter, spends so much time sleeping with every man she can get her hands on that by the time the crime gets solved, you've forgotten what the crime was.
After so many books in a series, any writer's bound to get repetitive, but the editing and bad spelling has become worse and worse, and it really doesn't compare to the excellent earlier books.

Anita Blake seems to spend more time in sexy romps than killing villians in this latest installment.But who's complaining!
Written with Hamilton's usual flair and style,this is another deadly rollercoaster ride. With every word I find it harder to leave the richly dark world that Hamilton has created and peopled with a truly enticing and believable host of characters.
