The first book in The Dark Tower series sets the scene for this epic tale of Roland The Gunslinger as he sets off in pursuit of the man in black and the quest for The Dark Tower. A relatively short book, but gives you enough of a taste to keep you coming back for more. This book and the others in The Dark Tower series, I personally believe to be Stephen Kings best work.

Though the first book is only a short story it wets your appetite for the epic adventure that Roland is about to undertake, set in a strange adaptation of our current world, either before or after our time, it is all a bit mysterious. The story is set in harsh lands and follows Roland the Gunslinger as he chases the Man in Black across the desert. Who is Roland and why is chasing the Man in Black, the story is just beginning, what is the Tower and why must he reach it, the book starts you thinking and asking questions and makes you want to grab book two in the series asap.

The start of a journey. How I wish that I could start again with Roland crossing the white desert, not knowing what's going to happen.

Enjoy the story and strech the series out as long as possible.
