'His hand closed automatically around the fake Horcrux, but in spite of everything, in spite of the dark and twisting path he saw stretching ahead for himself, in spite of the final meeting with Voldemort he knew must come, whether in a month, in a year, or in ten, he felt his heart lift at the thought that there was still one last golden day of peace left to enjoy with Ron and Hermione.' With these words "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" draws to a close. And here, in this seventh and final book, Harry discovers what fate truly has in store for him as he inexorably makes his way to that final meeting with Voldemort. In this thrilling climax to the phenomenally bestselling series, J.K. Rowling will reveal all to her eagerly waiting readers. About the Author J.K. Rowling lives with her family in Edinburgh. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was her first novel, followed by Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince as well as two books written specifically for Comic Relief and based on the Harry Potter novels, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Quidditch Through the Ages. The Harry Potter novels have now sold over 325 million copies worldwide and been translated in to 64 languages. J.K. Rowling has generated huge popular appeal for her books across the generations in an unprecedented fashion: she was the first children's author to be voted the BA Author of the Year. An adult edition of the book will be published simultaneously. |

A sensational tale of adventure and heroism, with a plot of nail-biting suspense and unerring action. Brilliantly written by a true master of the genre. The characters are perfect in every sense- real and intriguing. They struggle against bitter enemies and through great danger, and come out triumphant! Simply the best!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and thought it was a fine finale to the Potter series. Well done J.K! As soon as I had finished it I felt compelled to go back and read all the other books in the series: this book very neatly tied up all the loose strings and, consequently, was a very satisfying read.

I enjoyed the book a lot and it was fun to read and a suitable resolution for Harry and the other characters. However, some of the plot turns were just a bit too convenient and Rowling seemed to kill off characters for no apparent reason as their deaths didn't really advance the plot. Overall, definitely read it if you enjoyed the other books, you will like finally having proper resolution to the plot and although it's not as good as it could have been potentially it is a fun an enjoyable read.
A caveat - don't try and read the last book without reading the others! Even if you've seen the movies.

I very much enjoyed this book. It pulled together all the small threads from the other books and added some new interesting details and twists. It is great to see how Harry has matured and grown and I was very happy with the way that the story was brought to an end. It is sad that this is the last book, but it is also a great ending to a wonderful story so for this reason it’s also a happy ending.

What an amazing book and an amazing finale to the fantastic series that is Harry Potter! J. K. Rowling has outdone herself with this wonderfully, tensley written but fast moving finale to the series. This book was unput downable, both by myself and my children. I love the cover on the adult version too! Congratualtions Jk, you did an amazing job, and I am thrilled that I will be able to sit down and read the series from start to finish over and over again. We will talk about waiting for these books with our grandchildren when they are lucky enough to discover the magic that is Harry Potter. Deserved of five stars!

I loved the seventh book!! JK Rowling did a wonderful job. But I did wonder how Neville was able to pull the sword out of the Sorting Hat, when Griphook had taken it earlier than expected from Harry, at Gringotts? Did I skip a page? Other than that, after a heck of a lot of sobbing, it was absolutely terrific!!

I'm not sure exactly what the person a few comments before me (July 20th, a day before the release to be exact) was on when they wrote their one star review, but if what they quoted was from the free internet download of the book, it's a load of rubbish and I would encourage people not to be put off by such dim-witted reviews.
I'm not the kind of mean-spirited person to spoil a book ending in a review, and I should think others would have the decency to refrain. Even if their accounts are false. Sorry mate, but you've obviously read through a fraud. Time well spent for someone who was more eager to pirate Rowling's work rather than wait (last I checked, getting a book out at the library is free too...)
I greatly enjoyed the final book and would recommend it to anyone who has followed Harry and his friends through the years.
