Superb as usual. Caine never lets you down, although what happens to Weather Warden Joanne Baldwin . . . Nope, not going to tell you, but I figure the next book has to be the big storm. If you’ve been reading the series, then you’ll understand when I say that Joanne and David are getting closer and closer to Happily Ever Aftering, but hey, it wouldn’t be much of a plot if HEA didn’t have a few hiccups along the way. Of course in this series ‘hiccups’ usually means monumental natural and supernatural catastrophes, and ‘Gale force’ is no exception. If you haven’t read the series, you really should do so in order. Reviews have praised the series as similar to Laurell K Hamilton and Jim Butcher. Butcher, yes, although his worlds are far more complex and the humour more pronounced. As to Hamilton, I find Caine’s characters much more likeable.
