David Eddings has a way of making even the oldest Fantasy plot seem new in this series. His way to bring a new world alive and to keep the characters growing as the plot moves along is like nothing I've never come across so far. The story follows the life of a young boy named Garion as he starts to learn he's more then who he thought he was. He is a chosen one of a Prophecy told long before his birth, and now it is time that he goes to fore fill it. This is a must have series for all Fantasy lovers.

If you love fantasy then this is a must read series. The first book of the BElgariad, Pawn of Prophecy is my favorite of the series as the introduction of the characters and the world is handled so well. The magic of this particular world, the Will and the Word is handled beatifully by Eddings, easy to understand for the reader and perfectly worked into the stroyline.

However what makes this series so good is the characters, from Garion the lowly farmboy destioned for great things, his Aunt Polgara, the mysterious Mr Wolf along with the rest of the cast of thieves, warriors and magicians this is one of the best fantasy series to printed outside fo the Discworld. highly recommended.
