– Customer review on 06/07/2008 We are once again back to Elena, the werewolf that you would think is the LEAST maternal woman out there. But she's pregnant to Clay and scared to death of losing the baby to either the change, or to bad guys! When Elena accidentally releases Jack the Ripper using his "From Hell" letter, she puts herself and her unborn baby in danger. Her pack, Clay and Jeremy, are there to help along with some of their more magically inclined friends. Action packed, very sweet how Elena and Clay have evolved over the years following Bitten, the first novel with Elena and Clay in it. A really good read, a very different plot. Exciting!

– Customer review on 26/03/2007 VERY NICE!!!! I love this book. This was the book that gave me goosebumps while reading it. And I love the excitement! Very eerie and creepy, but story line was great and very creative. The zombies were nice touch! And the pregnant Elena was also a very nice touch, yeah... fighting and changing while dealing with pregnancy. I loved it how Jeremy and Clay had gotten very very very protective against the pregnant Elena. It's funny in their own way. This book is definitely a great read!

– Customer review on 23/10/2006 Hooray, Armstrong has returned to the character of Elena, the only known female werewolf in existence, who is about to give birth to the only known werewolf/werewolf baby. Yes, she and Clay, the werewolf who turned her in ‘Bitten’ and who has had an on again / off again / rip your heart out kind of relationship for the past fifteen years, have finally come to terms with each other. Well, I guess that’s pretty obvious, since Elena is expanding with alarming rapidity. She’s also bored out of her skull, because Clay and the alpha wolf Jeremy have turned overprotection into an art form. When she is asked to retrieve the From Hell letter, allegedly written by Jack the Ripper, she figures that will be some harmless fun, and so it is, until Elena realises she has unleashed Jack the Ripper, rabid rats, and a couple of determined zombies into the world…or more precisely, the city of Toronto, whose new slogan might end up being Gateway to Hell. Elena has to close the dimensional portal before things get out of hand. Then again, when you add vampires, sorcerers, and celebrity spiritualists to the list, things may have already gone too far. Like all Armstrong’s other books, ‘Broken’ is beautifully written, intricately plotted, and difficult to put down. If there is any criticism it’s that the style leans very heavily on the main character telling the reader what’s happened rather than the plot revealing itself, but Elena is such a delightful character that you don’t really mind.

– Customer review on 27/05/2006 I really enjoyed this - like her other books. The leads are all strong and despite their various non - human species very human in their relationships and loyalties. Loved that Elena and Clay had twins and successfully - with the potential of a second female werewolf. It was a good read from start to finish and am hoping there are more in this set. Would like to see the other three werewolves find true love!!
