You Immediately get absorbed into the world of magic, where only vampires, mages and magical creatures roam. i throughly enjoyed it and loved the romance as it Blossomed before my eyes. this is a book that not only vampire lovers will love but any one that loves an adventure and the supernatural. read this book it is worth it just for the experience.
Just as good, if not better, than ‘Touch the Dark’. Cassandra Palmer has suddenly become the world’s chief clairvoyant, although her training has been a little, well, null and void. Now every vamp, Fey, or mage in the business either wants her [or her power], or wants her dead. One particular master vampire wants her to the extent that he has issued a magical claim to warn off any other suitors, which doesn’t suit Cassie although he suits her down to the ground. Brilliantly written, with lots of humour in a darker fantasy than those of the Feehan ilk. Thumbs up to chance, despite the first-person style.

This is the first book I have ever read from Karen Chance. With all honesty, it the best book that I have read so far, and does have some interesting factors going on - for instance, having the power to move back and fourth through time, battles with the Majai council ( a group of witch like people who have incredible physical strength, a thirst for blood etc) and the chance to rule a Kingdom.
The cassie Palmer series are a really fascinating read. She is a clairvoyant who is untrained, gets caught in the middle of things all the time and is really entertaining and of course the vampires are HOT!
I found touch the dark (the first Cassie Palmer books) a little difficult to follow as there were a lot of different things going on (vampire councils, mages, silver circle, black circle & fey) which was a bit overwhelming at first but am extremely glad that I perserved because this is an excellent series and makes a lot more sense the more you read.
