This was an exciting book to read. It is definately more sexy then the previous books in the series but that is some of it's charm. It takes anita and the story to a whole new level.

Also the Bad guy in this one is unique in his way I find it opens doors to the way the story grows in the next few books. To me this is a turning point in the Anita Blake series. It's entertaining sexy and a must. The story and anita couldn't do anything else.

I absolutely loved this book! Narcissus in Chains is a little different in the story line here as the bad guy is not so much the problem as the growth in Anita. She grows a lot in this book and learns a lot more about herself and her triumvate which is truly exciting. This book also introduces Micah who is a fabulous character and a nice contrast to Jean-Claude and Richard.

The person below has it absolutly right. The sex is getting pornographic, the plot is getting weak, and to be fair she just doesn't deserve the readers' sympathy anymore. This makes it hard to want her to win. A couple of times in the last few books I've just wished some baddy would put her out of her misery.

Go for the earlier books. They're lively and fun.

While this is still a very good book, the sex scenes are getting out of hand and starting to overpower the stroyline. Anita is as good a heroine as ever, but in this book the bad guy is something of a letdown and could have been better imagined, he seems underpowered and really not all that much of a threat compared to some of the big bads that Anita has gone up against before.
