THE FINAL RECKONING Time was running out for Garion and his companions in their quest to recover Garion's infant son and heir. If they could not locate the Place Which Is No More, then Zandramas, the Child of Dark, would use Garion's son in a rite that would raise the Dark Prophecy to eternal dominion over the universe! Only the Seeress of Kell could reveal the site of that mysterious place--and that she could do only once Garion and Polgara had fulfilled an ancient prophecy in the mountain fastness of the Seers . . . Kell itself was closed to Zandramas--but her dark magic could force the knowledge she needed from one of Garion's party. She laid her traps and dispatched her foul minions, determined to claim the world for the Dark God. But Garion would let nothing stand between him and his son . . . Here is the epochal conclusion to David Eddings' bestselling The Malloreon, the culmination of an unparalleled quest across strange lands and among strange peoples--a magnificent fantasy of men, Kings, Sorcerers, and Gods caught up in the seven-thousand-year war between two ancient, opposing Destinies battling to determine the fate of all creation.

The stunning conclusion of the malloreon series. Garion is closing in on his enmies with determination and a lot of help from his friends. From the mystical land of Kell to the strom washed island with warriors that are vagely familar, Garion searches for his abducted son, with Belgarath and Polgara and of course Her Highness Cenedra, always playing in the back of his mind that one of them will not survive this incounter. Another awesome book by David Eddings not to be missed if you have read the others.
the more that Garion and his party learn and accomplish in order to defeat Zandramas, save the world, and rescue the Garion's son, the more they are at risk of having Zandrama's dark magic extract what the group has learned by entering the mind of one of them.
Once again Eddings has continues to spin story lines that keep you reading past the time when you'd promised yourself you would stop. And because the series is now complete you don't have to ration yourself because it will be a long wait for the next installment -- read on, the next and final installment is in the back of the volume.
Still on Zandramas’ tail and still seeking for the ‘place that is no more’ the group all make a detour to Kell, where the Seeress Cyradis hails from; a beautiful city underneath the shadow of a massive mountain, much to Silk’s chagrin. However, from there they are directed to Perivor, the ‘place of chivalry’ and then finally to Korim, where it is revealed that this place is where the group has been looking for all this time. The Child of Dark and the Child of Light are to face off here; not in battle, but as candidates that Cyradis has to choose from; for her, they are equal.
The final confrontation has come at long last, however it was rather anticlimactic. This book is rather predictable in all respects, though it does tie up all the loose ends of the series definitively, which is a relief. There is a bit of character development, though in keeping with the series not that much, and the writing style is about the same; lots of sardonic observations and bickering, though the unique city of Kell is rather well-described. An adequate ending to this massive series.
This is a recommended read. The character developement is excellent, but may be a little to complicated for younger readers. The action adventure is full on. This is an epic series and easiest when started from the first book. As a writer David Eddings is in his realm.
