wow! was what i thought after reading this AMAZING book. choke is such a great read, really leaves you hanging, and is filled with some really interesting concepts, like scamming people out of money to live happily. really was a bit inspiring to be honest. some intruiging characters in here too, really deep ones that make yuo think. a must read if you enjoyed survivor.
Definitely one of Palahniuk’s better books. Although it was very entertaining, the plot seemed a little forced at times and I felt like Palahniuk lost some of his old spontaneous spark (Fight Club and Survivor). Still, a very funny book. I especially liked Mancini’s best friend. The female lead, as with most Palahniuk books, was a bit of a let down though. The end twist just didn’t work for me.
An awesome book from an awesome author. This is probably the second best of his work, coming a close second after Fight Club. A tale where food, desperation, greed, morals and deception collide. I definately would recommend this book for everybody. Except for those with weak stomachs :D. Palahniuk is a creative genious.
yes i totally agree with the previous review this is a great book and one that i wouldnt be surprised if it was on movie screeens sometime soon. a great story with great excentric charcters and hilarious scenes. the classiest storyline has to be the sexaholics anonymous meetings. oh better not give anything else away, get this book its fabulous.
Ingenious devilishly ingenious. What is the most creative way to scam people out of money? I don't know the answer to that myself, but this would have to be pretty darn close.
Like all of Palahniuk's tales this one is a pleaser. Another of which needs to be made into a movie.
A real mama's boy Mancini does no robin hood, just hoodwinks people out of their dough by choking. Once they "save" his life they in turn are indebited to him forever.
Forget the dole with a plan like this who needs fornightly forms?.
