– Customer review on 01/10/2008 A fast and easy to read taste of Reilly and his Scarecrow. A nice step forward for the Scarecrow after his personal loss in the last book. I read this thin book in just a couple of hours. Reilly keeps the pace quick, sacrificing, at times (with the cannon-fodder characters) character development, and maintains the strength & nobility of his Scarecrow, a man we hope truly exists in this world. If you're already a fan, this is a nice slice of Reilly to tide you over to the next big adventure for the Scarecrow and his loyal soldiers. If you're not yet a fan, this is still worth a look; it's a quick read, holds your interest and doesn't stretch your powers of disbelief too far. You may find that one taste here and you'll be hunting for the other Scarecrow adventures.
