This is a no holds barred short action story.

Starts with main character (Captain Shane Schofield) landing with his team right in the middle of action and doesn't stop until the final word on the 107th page. Making this a 'Matthew Reilly - lite' book, stripping back the story to only essential information and replacing it with all out action.

Keeping in mind it is a short story and was originally released for the books alive campaign it is an extremely good read. Definitely felt a lot better spending the $7.99 on this then more on any movie released recently.

If you haven't heard of Matthew Reilly's work give this a crack and you'll instantly be reading through all his other books!

A fast and easy to read taste of Reilly and his Scarecrow. A nice step forward for the Scarecrow after his personal loss in the last book. I read this thin book in just a couple of hours. Reilly keeps the pace quick, sacrificing, at times (with the cannon-fodder characters) character development, and maintains the strength & nobility of his Scarecrow, a man we hope truly exists in this world. If you're already a fan, this is a nice slice of Reilly to tide you over to the next big adventure for the Scarecrow and his loyal soldiers. If you're not yet a fan, this is still worth a look; it's a quick read, holds your interest and doesn't stretch your powers of disbelief too far. You may find that one taste here and you'll be hunting for the other Scarecrow adventures.
