– Customer review on 19/12/2008 I'm sorry. Maybe I'm the only person on earth that didn't enjoy this book, but i found it over indulgent and depressing. It is well written and bittersweet and Hosseini is a true artiste, it's just that this book left me down and upset and i felt it could've been tackled better. I found the characters were far too stereotyped. The selfish Amir, the loyal Hassan... It could've been so good but it was predictible in the emotions it sought to draw from you... Don't give up on Hosseini; A Thousand Splendid Suns, is great. Just this one, haunted/annoyed for a while. I wish I hadn't read it, unfortunately.
