Will and Evanlyn are captive of the Skandinavians and one in particular - Erak. They are taken into slavery and Will is forced to take drugs and work in horrible conditions. Erak, who turns out to be more of a friend than an enemy, helps Evanlyn rescue Will and take him up to a hut for the winter. Evanlyn must wean Will off the drugs in order for him to survive and they also must be out of the hut before the summer arrives. Halt and Horace set off to find Will - and Halt defys the king and gets expelled from the Rangers and sentenced to a years banishment. An amazing read that i recommend to all.

Will and Evalyn are captives of the Skandians, bound for the land of Skandia and an unknown fate. Startled to discover that Evalyn is in fact, Princess Cassandra, daughter of King Duncan, Will learns of a vow, made by the Oberjarl himself, to eliminate King Duncan and his family. He knows without a doubt that they must somehow escape.
Meanwhile, Horace and Halt are in hot pursuit of their friends. But along the way they are constantly challenged by roaming knights. Horace is no match for them, but there is one who may prove to be too strong, even for the young warrior apprentice.
John Flanagan delivers yet another success, although again, have the fouth book sitting beside you while you read this. I guarantee it will be worth it!

Will finds that the girl who is a captive along with himself is really the princess and in grave danger of being killed if she is found out. While still captives they are useless but if somone could help them escape then things might just work out! Meanwhile Hult and Horace are travelling to find them and to do that Hult gave up being a ranger for Will!

A real test of Wills skill, the princess bavery, and a small detail of somone who helps them among so meny who want them dead or broken minded. I hope that....there helper comes in again in the next book.

Will and Evanlyn have been captured and are on a ship bound for a life of slavery but will they even survive the monstrous storm that hits them and if they do will they cope with the horrible life that awaits them? Halt is desperate to rescue his missing apprentice but how far will he go to get the chance?
