– Customer review on 26/05/2007 This book is intertextual with Bronte's "Jane Eyre". It is meant as prequel in order to explain the crazy wife in the attic. As it is from her point of view, a lot of sympathy is created for her situation, showing the reader how easy it is to prejudice oneself against a person when the facts aren't known or on a simple misunderstanding. This book is quite heavy going - especially when you have to consider "Jane Eyre" too.
