This book provides an interesting perspective on life after death. It leaves you reflecting on your own purpose in life and the impact your actions have on others around you.
It's a fantastic book to read and review in your bookclub as it provides a wealth of differing ideas and discussion.
This book is often over-rated.
It's a good book, but not a great one. I love the concept of the protagonist dying and meeting five people in heaven who each have something to teach/impart to him.
However, I feel this idea was not as well executed as it could have been. Perhaps in the hands of a more experienced and highly talented writer this could have been 'timeless', but as it is, it's an enjoyable read and nothing more.
If you like Mitch Albom's other books, by all means give this a read. Just don't expect to be remembering this book for years to come.
mitch albom has done it again! the best selling author of the stunning little novel tuesdays with morrie has written a second book entitled the five people you meet in heaven, and has filled it with more touching sentences and situations that make the reader appreciate life with a fresh gusto at the end
This is actually an interesting story. The ending caught me by surprise.
Mitch Albom is good at words and good at presenting a story.
I don't know how heaven is like, and I don't think there's a right and wrong answer to it. The story makes one think, what's important in your life. What has been the major impact on your life? Perhaps any questions unanswered will be answered in the end. All the goods and bads, they will end eventually.
But I still personally prefer "Tuesdays with Morrie". :)
I loved this thought provoking book. Able to be read in an afternoon, it has the ability to change your perspective on life almost immediately. I recommend this book for people who are looking for answers to the 'big' questions of life.
at first i wasnt so sure about this book, but by then end of it i found myself pleasantly suprised. it was very interesting, and humourous at times. i loved every bit of it, and was very happy with my purchase. definitely give this book a chance, i think that you will come to find yourself pleasantly suprised also.
I really enjoyed this book. Easy to read and thought provoking without being too serious or sentimental. An elderly funpark worker meets 5 people in Heaven who have impacted and altered his life. This novel gets you thinking about the influence we have on those around us. A very enjoyable read.
i had my doubts about Five People You Meet In Heaven, as many hot shot first novellists do not do so well with their second book and in some way take away the beauty of the first success by writing a crappy second book, but this was in no way the case here. excellent book read it
This book was surprisingly interesting although it is inaccurate as to the real truths of heaven. But fictionally it traces the life of this elderly theme park worker and the people he has engaged throughout his life. Its short enough to enjoy quickly although nothing that special and worth owning. So I guess Im not a huge supporter of this book and believe there are better one's out there worth reading.
