It is a tiny book, rather like a long story (around 80 pages). So people who are interested in a quick and easy read that leaves you longing to live your life to the fullest, this is the book for you. Lizzie, a 32 year old girl who has a decent job and a loving boyfriend (even though not ready to be married) is the central character of the book.

I liked the starting line "Lizzie is dead". Then it goes on from there. She dies when cycling home from work, a little bit preoccupied. Even after she is dead, she does not know she is dead and keeps getting increasingly surprised and sad as everyone around her seems t ignore her.

There is a sentence in the book that really got my attention - "Dead is a good word for dead, it's so dead!" very true!

I enjoy marian keyes so was keen to read this novella while awaiting her next novel. I was a bit dissapointed by the story as there wasn't much to it. Simply the main character has an accident but doesn't realise she is dead. Maybe this book was what inspired the much more meaty novel from Marian 'Is anybody out there'. Good for a quick read while at the hairdressers or on the bus.
