Beautiful once-in-a-lifetime romance. Book is better than the excellent movie, and a must for lovers of romance minus the schmaltz. Very believable and well-crafted characters in a summer's passion that threatens to take over their lives.
Kincaid is the loner with the an empty place in his soul that he searches to fill, while Francesca is the earthy woman who embraces and fulfills him after he touches a deep need in her that her family can never understand. The end bittersweet and poignant.
