James patterson is a brilliant writer and this book suzanne's diary for nicholas was one of the best book i have ever read. it shows tru love, life and death. it made me think of my life at one point. this book is gripping and i read it in one sitting. it brought tears to my eyes. i would recommend this to anyone.
Patterson has taken a huge leap in genres, and by the reviews I see, his readers are running hot and cold. I personally loved this book and I know for a fact that love like this does exist, if only it could happen to everyone at least once in a lifetime.
The style of the book is not only as a diary, but it is laced with short entries about the life of Katie who has been given the diary to read. The majority of the story takes place on Martha's Vineyard, a small island off the coast of Massachusetts. It is the story of a perfect love, a perfect family and everything one could only hope for in life. Patterson is acutely sensitive in his ability to write as a female character telling her story.
Without ruining it for the reader I will say that the book is an emotional roller coaster, but a ride I wouldn't have missed for anything. Right from the beginning we are left to wonder why Katie is reading Suzanne's diary and we know that there is much more to this story. Thank you Mr. Patterson for a wonderful book and a loving piece of humanity.
This book really sucked me at first. I couldn't put it down. But then I got pretty bored with all the gooey, luvvy, duvvy, baby talk stuff. Something fluffy to read on holidays if you don't want to think too much. Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas would make a good B-Grade midday movie to fall asleep in front when the cricket is washed out.
This was an absolutely beautiful story. I was in tears in parts and smiled in others. James Patterson is a fantastic writer. I never thought I would enjoy it that much. Definitely worth reading - with lots of tissues!
Suzanne's Diary For Nicholas has an incredibly lame title and the story itself while realtively readable has similar hang ups that is its pure soap opera with cardboard cut out characters. Suzanne seems to have found the perfect man but he disappears leaving only his diary behind. Silly but oddly readable.
James Patterson has moved away from his thriller genre in this book. Suzannes Diary for Nicholas was so fantastic that I couldnt put it down and it literally had me in tears in points, and smiling in other points. Absolutely fantastic, a tale of love and loss and learning to love again that should be read by all
