This is Ken Follett's masterpiece. A very enthralling story that makes you hibernate from the world for two days while you finish it. Having visited a number of European cathedrals, it gives you a great appreciation for the them and their history. The characters are interesting, the settings are very well described and the plot slides around all over the place, so you're never entirely sure what is going to happen. A great read.
