The first in a series that chronicles the life and times of Ramses II. While this novel had moments where the action dragged, it is made up for through its historical accuracy. I've since gone on to read the other 4 books in the Ramses series, and would recommend them to lovers of historical fiction.

Christian Jacq's extensive knowledge of ancient egypt and all the suspense and conspiracy will make you keep reading for hours.
