– Customer review on 07/08/2007 This is the second in Bernard Cornwell's trilogy, the Grail Quest Series. Thomas of Hookton is continuing on his quest to find the holy grail, but he doesn't know how to find it, or even if it truly exists. All Thomas really wants to do is be an archer and fight for his King. But, there are other sinister people searching for the grail and they will do anything to get it, including murder and torture. Thomas is driven by hatred and anger and must find the grail before it is too late.
Cornwell's writing is exciting and interesting throughout. His descriptions of war and battles are vivid and fascinating, and also a good insight into how battles were fought and lost in those times. Vagabond isn't as exciting as the first book, Harlequin, but still very good and a great build up to the final book, Heretic.
