An absolute classic. All vampire fans should read this book. It is truely enchanting and Anne Rice brings the New Orleans of centuries ago to life in vivid detail. The storyline can be a little tedious at times, but is altogether easy to read. I can garauntee you that you will be a Vampire/Anne Rice fan once you have read this. It is erotic and mindboggling.
This is a really good book, it has a great cast and a good story line, the story is a little dark and a little bit bloody. The story tells the story of life as a vampire through one of their eyes (Loise) it tells of his battle with being a vampire, his story of loss and love and frustration, it is dark, mysterious and exotic and is very well written, this is a vampire story with class, depth and a story, a must read
This book can lose you at times but if your a fan of the film you must read this book, it can take you where the film could not! It is rich and full of an immortals life of loves and woes, with Louise the center of the world he sees with his immortal eyes. I can't get enough of the world of vampires thanks to Ann Rice.
The first in the infamous Vampire Chronicles, it's told from the point of view of Louis, who in his life as a mortal was a depressed plantation owner in America's South. He has a fateful meeting with Lestat, a brash, arrogant vampire who offers Louis a way out of his mortal life. But Louis soon discovers that the life of a vampire, especially as Lestat's fledgling, isn't really any easier.
This debut by Anne Rice was very promising; she explored the nature of the ancient myth of the vampire that hadn't been touched on before, and had an interest in humanising them, instead of leaving them as the monsters of myth. The character development is solid, though some parts seemed forced and contrived, and the language is much the same. Still, this one at least is worth a look.
This is the second book in the vampire chronicles and its from lestats point of view this time around. Lestat tells us his story from when he was a boy living in france to the present day when he plans to become a rock star and live in the light.
This is one of the best books I have ever read, written from the point of view of the vampire louis tells his life story of pain and guilt as he has lived for 200 years. If you have seen the movie you have to read the book to hear how the story is meant to be told.
i love this book so much, i have read this book countless times, there is something about the idea of the vampire that people can relate to and feel at home with and this story, from the vampires perspective, is one such story. in this story louis in being interviewed by a mortal man, simply to tell his lifes story and have the world know it, and this was a huge crime among the vampires. in this story we hear about how louis was made a vampire and the struggles he has throughout his life. i won't give too much away but i will simply say once you have read this story you will crave more like blood. and there are 9 more books to sait that hunger.
